The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves scrapped toward the end of their NBA Playoffs battle Saturday. Many believed Nikola Jokic and Julius Randle would earn suspensions for their role in the brawl.
Both, however, will avoid suspensions as the NBA revealed the punishment Sunday afternoon.
Jokic will be fined $50,000 for his involvement in inciting the brawl. Randle will cough up $35,000, per the league’s communications office.

Jokic and Randle earned ejections with 1.3 seconds left. The former rushed over to Jaden McDaniels following a late Timberwolves bucket. Jokic gets into the face of McDaniels, leading to the T-Wolves star to grab Jokic’s jersey in trying to push off of the Nuggets star.
Randle jumped into the scrum by shoving Bruce Brown during the scuffle. Minnesota went on to win 112-96 and took a commanding 3-1 series lead in this Western Conference Playoffs showdown.
Did Jokic regret his actions, however?
“I don’t regret it,” Jokic told reporters postgame. “Because he scored after everybody stopped playing.”
Jokic admits his shooting is off during this series.
“It’s a little bit of everything. You know, I’m not shooting the ball really well, especially from the three, and you know, Rudy is doing a good job with being physical, testing the officials, contesting shots,’’ Jokić said.
The league officially launched its investigation into the Nuggets-Timberwolves matter Sunday morning. Both Jokic and Randle will officially be on the floor for Game 5 by avoiding suspensions.
Many fans will watch how both keep their emotions in check. Especially with Denver now facing elimination as the series shifts back to Ball Arena.
